History

1969.

The history of UkrAVTO Corporation began from the establishment of the Central Administrative Board of Car Maintenance and Repairs whose structure included 7 regional manufacturing boards and about 50 service stations.

1989.

During reorganization and global management reforms the Central Administrative Board was reorganized in Autoservice Ukrainian Rent Production Association including 25 regional enterprises, 7 regional centres, 280 service stations and 90 motor-car shops.

1992.

At the beginning of the newest history of Ukraine the most important structural transformations of the Ukrainian motor-car giant took place resulted in the establishment of Ukrainian Motor Corporation Open Joint-Stock Company mostly known under its short title - UkrAVTO Corporation. The same year in conjunction with Sumimoto Corporation Avtosamit Joint Venture was established that soon became Toyota Official Representative Agency in Ukraine. The Corporation participated also in the establishment of Garant-AVTO Insurance Company that became one of the greatest operators of the insurance market in Ukraine. Today the Company is called Generaly Garant.

1993.

In conjunction with Marubeni Corporation Nissan-Ukraine Joint Venture was established that became Nissan first distributor in Ukraine. Today this company is called Goloseevsky Autocentre. This year cooperation of UkrAVTO Corporation with DaimlerChrysler Concern and establishment of Ukraine Automobile House Joint Venture started.

1994.

Ukraine Automobile House became DaimlerChrysler’s General Representative in Ukraine. In 2001 AutoCapital Affiliated Company inherited the functions of the General Representative and became a distributor of Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge trademarks in Ukraine.

1995.

UkrAVTO became a co-founder of Autoalliance Financial Group that granted a full range of services in the stock market and actively mastered a real sector of economy. The same year UkrAVTO Corporation was entirely privatized.

1998.

UkrAVTO became an Official Representative of HOFMANN Werkstatt-Technik Company in Ukraine and in 2001 it resulted in the establishment of HOFMANN Maintenance Centre at Blitz-Auto Automobile Service Affiliated Copmany. In 1998 on completion of works on renovation of production at Zaporizhzhya Motor Plant, Lanos, Nubira, Leganza automobiles and upgraded Tavria were put into production.

1999.

This year UkrAVTO Corporation’s ZIP-AVTO Affiliated Company was established whose basic line of activity is wholesaling of component and spare parts of world famous trademarks in Ukraine.

2001. 

In Ukraine the first Bosch Service Station was established based on the trading and diagnostics centre of the Corporation — TDTS-AVTO Automobile Service Affiliated Company. In November 2003 another firm station was opened in Poltava within the joint budget program of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Bosch in Ukraine.

2002.

UkrAVTO Corporation took control over Zaporizhzhya Motor Plant (more than 82% of the shares of AvtoZAZ Open Joint-Stock Company being in its turn a holder of 50 % of ZAZ CJSC shares) and acquired the right to manage the enterprise and, in particular, its production programs.

2003.

The General Distribution Agreement was concluded between UkrAVTO Corporation (on behalf of one of its branches — UkrAvtoZAZ-Service Company), Zaporizhzhya Motor Plant and Adam Opel AG German Company (GMC European representative). Opel became an industrial partner of ZAZ and UkrAVTO, having invested in the SKD and MKD assembly of its model lineup.

The Agreement on Production of Lada-21093 and Lada-21099 motor-cars based on Zaporizhzhya Motor-Car Factory production capacity was signed between AvtoVAZ Open Joint-Stock Company, UkrAVTO Corporation and ZAZ CJSC. The same year Hirsch & Cie Swiss Financial and Investment Company acquired 50% of ZAZ CJSC shares that belonged to Daewoo Motor Company.

2004.

Opel Astra Classic motor car was put into serial production. UkrAVTO Corporation initiated Capital (Stolychne) Autoshow annual project.

2005.

Zaporizhzhya Motor Plant started full-scale production of Lanos. The Corporation became a main shareholder of the Polish automotive industry leader — FSO Plant, Warsaw. Lanos Chevrolet car produced by Zaporizhzhya Motor Plant Factory is exported to Russia.

2006.

I-VAN  buses were put into production on the platform basis of well-known TATA Indian Company. The Trucks Centre was formed in the UkrAVTO network, and thus sales of TATA, JAC trucks started. The Agreements on Distribution of Chery and Land Mark automobiles were concluded.

2007.

A joint venture is created with General Motors on a base FSO. Beginning of production Chevrolet Aveo in Poland.

2008.

Transfer of production Lanos in Zaporozhia, and Chavrolet Aveo all modifications on FSO. Beginning of distribution Mercedes-Benz in Kazakhstan..
